The House of Krigler was first introduced to an American clientele in Cap d'Antibes in the 1920s. It was during summers at the Villa America, a home owned by Americans Sara and Gerald Murphy, that Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Rudolfo Valentino first came to discover Cap d'Antibes—and The House of Krigler, which operated a fragrance atelier near the island’s sandy beach, Plage de la Garoupe.

When those Americans vacationed there, Cap d'Antibes was wild with flowers, and it had a huge forest with pine trees. Thus, Villa America 220, the scent named after the Murphy’s estate, is a clean botanical blend boasting sagebrush and magnolia laced with lemon and aquatic notes, then warmed with sandalwood and amber.

Cap d'Antibes is one of the most famous, exclusive and elite spots in the world, and it is where art, culture, heritage, poetry, inspiration and people met and still continue to meet.
